Yoga Samvād - Dialogues on Yoga, is a series curated by Tṛtīya in collaboration with Yogaśāla hosted by Hariprasad Varma.

In this series, we host dialogues with experts and practitioners from diverse walks of lives to share their wisdom on engaging with issues of contemporary relevance through the Yogic lens. The range of themes engaged with range from mental health and holistic well-being to socio-political and ecological issues.

Your Host

Hariprasad Varma is a student of Yoga in the Sri T Kriṣṇmachārya - Desikachār tradition. He received his Yoga Āchārya (RYT 500) and Yoga Vaidya (IAYT) training under the guidance of Smt. Saraswati Vasudevan (Founder - YogaVahini, Chennai). He has also had in-depth study and practice of Antaraṅga Yoga (Inner Work Through Yoga) for over 7 years under the mentorship of Sri Raghu Ananthanarayan (Co-founder - Ritambhara Ashram), a disciple of Sri T Kṛṣṇamachārya. He has also received his training in Vinyāsa Krama Yoga from Srivatsa Ramaswami, one of the senior most disciples of Sri T Kṛṣṇamachārya. He is also trained in Vedic Chanting from Krishnamachārya Yoga Mandiram (KYM) and continues to learn with Smt. Sujaya Isaac, one of the senior disciples of Sri TKV Desikachar.

Over the past ten years, Hari has curated numerous Yoga Samvāds bringing experts from various fields in dialogue with senior āchāryās from the Yoga tradition exploring the inter-sectionality of Patanjali's Yoga Sūtra and its contemporary relevance and application to various issues of critical importance.

Organisers

Yogaśāla is a center for yoga therapy and advanced studies in Yoga Sūtrās, Antaraṅga Yoga, and Yogic Depth Psychology. Founded in 2017 by Hariprasad Varma, Yogaśāla has curated numerous workshops and retreats across India and abroad integrating Yogic Depth Psychology with theatre, arts, and music.

Tṛtīya is centre for Bhāratīya Jñāna Parampara (Indian Knowledge Traditions) that is dedicated to integration of ideas and practices from Indic Wisdom with applied behavioural science, theatre, music, and arts. Tṛtīya's vision is to create conditions for a third creative response to contemporary dilemmas in the social, educational, and ecological spheres through sakala saḥṛdaya samvād (whole-hearted dialogues) and rasātmik action.
